Name: Elizabeth Tuttle Carmichael

Family: Husband, Bill Carmichael and four kids, Megan, 25, Alex, 24, Carter, 21, and Maisie, 20.

Years in Golden Isles: I have been coming down to Golden Isles since I was a baby. My cousins grew up in Black Banks and we would visit them every summer and other times of the year as well. I have always felt like it was home. We bought our home on Sea Island four years ago.

School: I went to Xavier University, in Cincinnati. Graduated with a degree in political science and minor in photography.

Occupation: Interior designer.

Favorite Landmark in the Golden Isles: Christ Church. It’s just so beautiful. I like to take new visitors to the grounds. It’s breathtaking. I also love Cannon’s Point. I enjoy riding my mountain bike out there.

Tell us about how you started your career as an interior designer: I came to my career as an interior designer in a roundabout way. I worked, right after college on Capitol Hill, for then-Senator Dan Coats, and then moved back to Indianapolis, a few years later. From there, I began a 15-year career in high-end real estate.
