A rezoning petition to convert two buildings at the TownePlace Suites Charlotte University Research Park property into housing was also filed last month with the city.

Oman’s wealth fund plans to restructure its tourism and real estate investments in the latest shift by the $17 billion sovereign investor.

The Oman Investment Authority will transfer a shareholding company, a tourism development project and resorts to the Omran Tourism Development Co., also known as Omran Group, the wealth fund said in a statement Sunday.

This move aims to “drive growth for Omran Group and strengthen its role in supporting economic diversification,” the statement added. Omran Group was established by the government in 2005 to focus on developing sources of economic diversification and attracting foreign direct investment to the Gulf nation, according to its website.

Last June, Oman combined its two wealth funds — the State General Reserve Fund and the Oman Investment Fund — into one entity.

Bonnie Petersen, Interior Complements | Latest News

LAKESIDE — Bonnie Petersen, owner of Interior Complements in Lakeside, has framed her own life around preserving and decorating memories for others. And, like so many business people on the Mountain, many of those customers over the years became friends.

Growing up a tomboy on a farm in Utah, Petersen said she preferred spending time building things with her dad — a meticulous carpenter — rather than “playing and putting fruit in a bowl.”

Tomboy she was, she also loved going hunting with her dad.

Petersen, who had two sisters and three brothers, said they grew up very poor. He earliest childhood career aspirations were centered around being a wife and mother because she knew early on there would be no funds for anything like college.

She met her husband in high school, and when they married she was a homemaker. They farmed and he worked at a granary. They had four children, two boys and two girls. They also had horses and belonged to a riding club where they lived in Utah.

The pandemic has had an impact on just about every facet of life — including what people want in their kitchens, according to the recently released Houzz Kitchen Trends Study.

Four COVID-related trends were identified in the study, which queried more than 2,000 Houzz users who had completed a kitchen remodeling or addition in the past year, were currently working on one or planned to start one within the next three months.

The study was conducted in late June/early July 2020 when the pandemic was entering its fourth month and stockpiling of food staples and household supplies was common. Not surprisingly, storage was on people’s minds; 94{ac967ad544075fb2f6bcea1234f8d91da186cac15e616dc329e302b7c7326b8c} of kitchen projects involved at least some cabinets, and 63{ac967ad544075fb2f6bcea1234f8d91da186cac15e616dc329e302b7c7326b8c} replaced all cabinets. Of the 31{ac967ad544075fb2f6bcea1234f8d91da186cac15e616dc329e302b7c7326b8c} of homeowners who opted for partial cabinet upgrades, 28{ac967ad544075fb2f6bcea1234f8d91da186cac15e616dc329e302b7c7326b8c} added some cabinets, nearly a fourfold increase over the previous year.
