Alan Carr has awkward moment on The One Show as Priyanka Chopra Jonas mistakes him for interior designer

Alan Carr may be known to UK audiences as one of the nation’s leading stand-up comedians and chat show hosts, but to busy Hollywood star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, he might as well be an interior designer.

And, to be fair, considering the Chatty Man host was appearing on The One Show to promote the next series of Interior Design Masters, you can definitely forgive Priyanka for thinking that’s exactly what Alan does for a living.

Also appearing on the BBC show to promote her new book Unfinished, Priyanka provided awkwardness vampires with an absolute feast when she told Alan that what he does is “an integral part of most people’s lives”.

“We just finished doing up our house, just now in LA,” she began. “And it was the first time in about 15 years that I’ve spent time picking colours and cushions, so I think what you do is such an integral part of most people’s lives. So thank you,

The two former co-stars are hosting new game show ‘Assembly Required’ for the History Channel, and the project might be the closest fans get to a real-life edition of their fictional show within a show, ‘Tool Time’.

The pair are back together as hosts and executive producers alongside resident expert and DIY YouTuber April Wilkerson, as the show challenges builders across the US to “breathe new life into everyday household items in desperate need of fixing”.

Tim commented: ‘They say a longtime friend is someone who responds with, ‘This is by far your worst idea ever’…Fortunately, this was a great idea working with Richard.

“I loved those days doing Tool Time. We both share a great appreciation of people who can solve a problem not by talking about it, but by ‘doing’ it with creativity and amazing building skills. Plus it gives me more time to make fun of his fake beard.”

Detailing the show, the History Channel added: “This new series will push each contestant to their limits while testing their ability and ingenuity to not only rebuild it but to build

Taylor Spellman, a veteran of New York City’s interior design and home-staging game, is launching a new show on Discovery+.

The premise of the series, “One Week to Sell” is simple: Spellman’s interior design firm swoops into a sad home that’s languishing on the market and gets one week and a $10,000 budget to transform it into a must-buy.

The show debuts today with the release of the first three episodes. New ones come out weekly on Wednesdays.

The properties featured in the show are in New York’s tri-state area, where sales have soared since the pandemic began last year, as buyers sought bigger homes with outdoor space.

But some of the homes Spellman works on are in dire shape. A dank, dark brick kitchen, misshapen rooms, ghastly carpeting and dated wallpaper are some of the challenges she confronts each episode.

“Once I give this the hug it deserves, it’s just going to be money,” Spellman says in one episode after she salvages a rickety, run-down table from the roadside and refurbishes it as a buffet table for a dining room.

“It’s about creating a place

OKC homebuilders will bring ideas back ‘from’ the International Builders Show, as usual, even though it’s online this year, which is not

“To see firsthand the latest in building science and design has allowed us to bring those concepts back to Oklahoma and share with our customers. We are looking forward to the event but also looking forward to the day we can all begin meeting and attending these great conferences in person.”

The virtual format for product exhibition will have ups and downs, said Mike Means, executive vice president of the Oklahoma Home Builders Association.

“The pro will be able to go at your own pace and be very selective of what you want to see,” he said. “A big con is that anything online allows one to try and multitask and miss some things. A couple of other cons is missing the interaction with the vendors and maybe stumbling across that one product that catches your eye.”

Means said an “unexpected positive” will be “touching base with folks you might miss if you are wandering around a gigantic showroom. Of course the negative is not being able to socialize in a normal human fashion.”

There probably isn’t any complaining about the online conventions. The National Association of Home Builders, which presents the International Builders Show, and National Kitchen & Bath
